Finally some rain

Today it rained all day. Normally a pain in the arse, but we have been without substantial rain since spring. I started collecting grey water - something I only laughed at before. Before the water restrictions. I am extremely irritated a yuppie who lives in the neighborhood. Please understand, I am not a tree hugger, but we have been on water restrictions for a couple months. I was walking my dog last week around 10:30 pm and I heard an odd noise. As I took my dog on a new walking course, I found the noise - sprinklers. chchchchchch...

I went to the door and rang the bell. This young guy answers the door and I ask him if he realizes there is a water restriction. Of course he knew, he had a permit. A city that is moving up the relocation of the primary drinking water source by 10 years is giving permits to allow watering three nights a week.

Urgh. One we have a yuppie who feels he should be able to keep his grass nice and green - two we have a city that allows "permits" to save landscaping.

I guess I no longer have to worry - it has rained all day. The yards are greening up again and presumably the drinking water source is running strong. Hopefully the rain will continue.

Through all of this I have actually become a little closer to the trees - I'm not hugging them yet though!
